In between our various activities we have our cats. Guess I should spell that CATS. There's only two but I think they have taken over. I compressed the daylights out of these pictures. They are either at 75 or 100DPI with 50 to 80% compression, which costs a bit in image quality, but they load five times faster!

This is Rags. She seems to sleep a lot. I think this is because she is 10 years old, and eats too much. She sure likes her Whitefish and Tuna. She earns her keep though. We gave up keeping track of her mortality rate on gophers, moles and mice. Since we got Bob she has lost a lot of weight - mainly from chasing him and lying in wait. She has her times when I have to give her a kitty tranquilizer, but most of the time she and Bob Cat do their cat socializing thing. |

This is Spider. He's really cool. Kind of aloof, won't let to many people touch him - but he adopted us. He jumps as high as 6 feet to catch humming birds flying by. He climbs anything he can get his claws into. He likes dried fish. He has a thing for drinking water out of anything except his water dish. He loves dripping faucets. He adopted us as did Rags, and I think he was a kennel cat some where. |

This is Bob Cat. He was abandoned by some people who were bad neighbors. When they were evicted by the sheriff someone was heard to yell, "You gonna take the #$%$ cat with ya?" There was no answer. Bob was left behind. He had a big open sore on his back . We kept feeding Bob until he stayed. We took him to the vet and got his back thing fixed right away. The Vet. cleaned out an abcess and put 17 stitches in his back! Bob and Rags don't get along. I think this rivalry was established when he was "the cat in that other place." He has a lousy sense of balance. He's embarrassed himself more than once trying to walk across the front edge of the kitchen sink. He slips and falls off, hangs there for a few seconds, looks around to see if anyone is watching and then lets go and falls on the floor. If you see him and chuckle he gets an annoyed look! |

When we aren't at home working we are travelling - Scott sometimes goes with us, but last year he couldn't that was our second trip to Tahiti, and the island of Moorea. The trip was splendid even though we were there for the worst storm in something like 15 years. Worst storm meant the lagoons had a fast current and there were some tidal surges and it got really cold - 75 degrees. Well, the locals were wearing sweatshirts in layer and down filled jackets - to them it was cold! So, we rented a little car called a Fiat Panda, and spent the week running around and around the island - all 35 miles of road around it. That was okay, with gas at $2.30 a liter (1/4 gallon) we didn't want to go too far afield. Here is Anita, at a high point on the road looking out to sea - you can see the southern tip of Tahiti in the background in the picture of me. (Ain't she good looking though?

And, not to be totally too serious here, here is Scott in one of his really really serious moments. Silly guy!
